FAQ:
Direct Pay + Insurance: How It Works
At Equestrian Orthopedic Solutions, we operate as a direct-pay orthopedic concierge service, meaning we do not bill insurance for our visits or procedures. However, many of the services we recommend—such as X-rays or bracing—may still be covered by your insurance when accessed through outside providers.
Below are answers to common questions about how to use your insurance alongside our care.
Can I still use my insurance if I pay you directly?
You can pay for your evaluation and submit a superbill to your insurance which may be reimbursed for related services, such as:
-
Imaging (X-rays, MRI, CT)
-
Durable medical equipment (braces, walking boots, splints)
-
Physical therapy
-
Labs or other outside diagnostics
We do not coordinate insurance billing, but we will provide written orders or referrals to trusted local providers who do.
What happens if I need imaging or bracing?
-
We'll give you a written order or referral.
-
You choose a provider that accepts your insurance (or pay cash if preferred).
-
That provider bills your insurance directly.
-
We’ll receive the results and continue your care without interruption.
We are happy to refer you to reputable imaging centers and DME suppliers in the Wellington, FL area.
Can I get reimbursed for the visit?
In many cases, yes.
-
We will provide a detailed itemized receipt (superbill) upon request.
-
You may be able to submit this to your HSA or FSA for reimbursement.
-
Check with your plan administrator to confirm your benefits.
What we do NOT do:
-
We do not bill or interact with insurance companies.
-
We do not receive any compensation, referral fees, or kickbacks from outside providers.
-
You are free to use any provider you choose for outside services.

I had been suffering from shoulder pain for months before finally seeking help. Thankfully, I found the best — PA Melissa Mol-Pelton. Melissa provided an in-depth consultation, taking the time to explain my issues with exceptional bedside manner. The results have been nothing short of amazing — no more pain! For me, injections made all the difference, and the results have been consistent each time. What stood out most was her understanding of my biggest concern: “When can I get back on my horse?” Melissa’s empathy and expertise made me feel completely confident that I had come to the right place. I highly recommend her.
